This guide does not intend to replace more authoritative documents such as the official OpenEmbedded User Manual or OpenEmbedded Howto . The main objective is to produce a document useful for the beginner developer, and to serve as "next step" after reading the previously detailed documents.
By using this guide the developer will be able to put into practice the concepts behind OpenEmbedded as a guided tour from the very beginning(downloading OE) and ending with the real installation over a VIA system. In other words, the final output of this manual is an ISO image ready to transform our system in a brand new OpenEmbedded customized system. It is important to emphasize that the concepts used in this tutorial also applied to more traditional embedded architectures (ARM, MIPS, and so on).
